During summer camp season you may be required to work in other north eastern States for week long camps. The ability to coach a wider array of sports will mean you are more likely to have the opportunity to travel. Will I need to drive? YES. Every coaching location you will attend requires you to drive to get there. Whilst not all of our coaching staff drive, if we receive two similar applications, we will look to give preference to the driver due to the nature of our work. Only a limited number of non-drivers can be offered positions.
What will my job entail? Soccer in the North East of America is typically played primarily in the fall and spring seasons. Therefore, coaches will spend the majority of their time in these seasons working with teams of varying abilities. USA also operates clinics and individual sessions for children of all ages during this time. The summer season switches focus to the traditional day-camp style program where you will work with different groups each week on one of our specific camps. Summer camp programs include, but are not limited to; travel academy classes, world cup camps, multi sport camps, net-bursting camps amongst many others. What will I wear? At USA, we pride ourselves on the quality of program we provide. We look to project that image through the way we look on the field. Each coach will be provided with a full coaching apparel in order to look the part on the field.

Each person will receive our comprehensive coaching manual, filled with drills and sessions for all age groups. On top of all this, some individuals take the opportunity to go on NSCAA or USSF courses whilst in the States.
What will the weather be like in the US? For 9 month candidates, you will experience the entire spectrum of weather conditions. The start of the Spring can be cold and snowy. This gradually changes throughout the season leading up to the Summertime. Summer in the North East is hot and humid with temperature in excess of 100 degrees a real possibility. As the Fall approaches, the weather cools again, and by the time you leave in November the weather will regularly be below freezing.
Do I get any holiday or vacation time? YES. Our coaches receive up to two weeks of vacation for a 9 month contract. Make the most of your time off to travel the States or to visit other reachable parts of the Americas.

Working for USA has been an enjoyable experience and I have learnt a lot of new skills and drills to take back with me. I would recommend to anyone who wants to work in the US to come out here and gain some valuable experience which is very difficult to get back in the UK.
