Carlos Alberto: Brazil vs. Italy, 1970

Carlos Alberto is one of the legends of Brazilian soccer. Between 1964 & 1977 Alberto was capped 53 times and scored 8 goals.

The goal seen here is considered by many as one of the greatest goals ever seen on the world’s biggest stage. With Brazil currently 3-1 up and cruising their coolness and composure is clear for all to see as they pass the ball around with ease, toying with the Italian's. Carlos Alberto makes the run down the far hand side; the ball makes its way through greats such as Jairzinho & Pele before Alberto drives the ball low and hard across the goalkeeper and into the bottom corner. A truly memorable World Cup goal to take the trophy back to Brazil.
